Overview of the External Publishing Feature

This feature can be used when you want to share manuals with people who do not have a Teachme Biz account, such as when creating instructional guides for customers.

  • Manuals published in an "External Public Folder" can be viewed without logging in.
  • To allow external users to view manuals, share the manual's URL (or QR code), or the public URL configured for each external public folder.
  • You can set access restrictions for external public folders using a password or referrer URL.
  • Access by external users is subject to a monthly view limit that varies by plan.

If you exceed the limit

Regardless of which plan you are on, you can increase the view limit by adding a paid optional contract.

Limitations

  • The URL used for publishing starts with "https://teachme.jp/" and cannot be changed
  • Advanced search is not available when not logged in
  • IP address restrictions for external public folders are only available on specific plans (no longer accepting new applications)
    • Teachme Biz Basic Plan
    • Any plan + Long-term Contract Benefit 2022 (Access Restriction 3-Feature Set) or Long-term Contract Benefit 2022 (Access Restriction 3-Feature Set / SSO)

How to Get Started

Create an External Public Folder

Create a folder with the "Folder Type" set to "External Public Folder."
Note: You cannot change an existing "Internal Public Folder" to an "External Public Folder."

Save Manuals to the External Public Folder

Save and publish the manuals you want to make externally available in the folder you created.

The process for creating a manual is the same as for internal public manuals.

Verify That the Manual Is Accessible Externally

You cannot verify external access conditions from a browser where you are logged in to Teachme Biz.
Please verify by creating a situation where you are not logged in to Teachme Biz.

Verify by logging out of Teachme Biz

  1. Log out of Teachme Biz in your browser
  2. Close all other browser tabs that are accessing Teachme Biz
  3. Access the external public URL and verify that you can view the external public folder or manual

Verify using private/incognito mode

  1. Open your browser in private/incognito mode
  2. Access the external public URL and verify that you can view the external public folder or manual

If the Manual Cannot Be Accessed Externally

Please check the following.

If the issue is not resolved after checking the above, please contact our support team at support@teachme.jp with the following information.

  • The URL of the external public folder in question
  • The URL of the external public manual
  • A screenshot showing the situation where the manual cannot be viewed
  • The circumstances under which you attempted to view it (browser type, referrer URL, etc.)
  • The date and time of the access attempt
