Basic Rules

Every day around 3:20 AM, an automatic backup is performed for any content that has differences (information updated or newly created) compared to the previous day.

Changes Considered as "Differences"

Automatic backups are triggered when the following information is changed in the server's editing data:

  • Cover information (title, image, description)
  • STEP information (title, image, description)
  • Search tags
  • Addition or deletion of comments

*Changes such as folder changes or Good Job interactions are not considered "differences".
*Archived manuals are not subject to automatic backup.

Backup Priority

If multiple edits are made in a single day, the one edited at the time closest to 3:20 AM will be automatically saved. *However, if a manual backup was performed before 3:20 AM, that data will be retained.

Backup Retention Period (30 Days)

You can go back to a state as far as 30 days in the past.

Example: If you perform a restoration at 4:00 PM on May 15, you can select and duplicate from backups from 30 days prior (April 16 at 3:20 AM) or later.

When No Edits Have Been Made

For example, if a manual created on March 16 was never edited and then accidentally deleted on May 15, you can go back to its state from April 16 (the backup from 3:20 AM on April 16, which is within the 30-day period) to restore it.

Restoration Mechanism: "Duplication" Rather Than Overwriting

Backup restoration does not overwrite existing manuals. Instead, a new manual is created with the data from the past.

  • About URLs: A new URL will be issued, so if you want to maintain the original URL, please transfer the contents using the clipboard function.
  • About ownership: The user who performed the restoration (duplication) operation becomes the owner of the new manual.

Data That Is and Is Not Transferred

Items That Are Transferred

  • Cover and STEP information (title, image/video, edits, description, related URLs, etc.)
  • Folder and sub-folder information
  • Search tags, comments, Good Job
  • View count, manual ratings

Items That Are Not Transferred (Reset or Changed)

  • Revision history: Will be blank
  • Last update time: Will be the time when the restoration was executed
  • Publication information: Created in "Draft" status
  • Approval request status: Returns to not-requested state (-)
  • Public URL: A new URL will be issued
  • Bookmark: Will be in an unbookmarked state

【Note】 About Re-editing Video Edit Information

Only backups created after 2:00 PM on July 31, 2020, can be re-edited for videos.
Data from before that time will be restored with fixed video edits, and the editing content cannot be modified.
