What does 'Unpublish' mean for manuals?

Returning a published manual to draft status is called "unpublishing" the manual.

Unlike archiving, unpublishing treats the manual the same as a draft before publication.
Use this feature when you want to temporarily remove a manual from public view.

When you click "Unrelease" on the manual editing screen, the manual will return to draft status.

Please check the following for instructions:

Caution

  • If your folder permission is set to "Viewer," you cannot view manuals that have been unpublished (drafted) in that folder
  • If an unpublished manual is registered as a related manual, an error screen will appear when trying to open the link
  • If an unpublished manual is registered in a Portal Page or Training Course, an error message will be displayed where the manual should appear
