Subtitle display position can now be selected
The subtitle display position can now be selected from either the top or bottom, allowing adjustment to a position that is easier to view according to the video.
Notes
Application of new-specification subtitles to existing manuals
To realize this major feature improvement, the fundamental specifications for subtitle display have been changed.
Old specification: Subtitles fixed to video where the subtitle state on the view screen cannot be changed
New specification: Subtitles not fixed to video where display language, display position, and display presence can be toggled
To prevent subtitle display issues in customer environments, the application to existing manuals will not be done all at once.
The subtitle appearance in each app is as follows.

* What does "Old-specification and new-specification subtitles are displayed in duplicate" mean?
New-specification subtitles are displayed overlaid on top of old-specification subtitles.
Therefore, as long as subtitles are displayed in the original text, there is expected to be no impact on viewing, but the following situations occur due to operations on new-specification subtitles.
- Changing the subtitle position or displaying two languages causes the old and new subtitles to no longer overlap, making the old-specification subtitles visible
- Even when subtitles are hidden, old-specification subtitles continue to be displayed
When fully migrated to the new specification, duplicate display will be resolved for videos edited after the Phase 2 release.
[Mobile App] Please update to compatible version apps and beyond.
When using apps that are not compatible after the second release, captions for videos edited or newly created after this release may not be displayed.
Please update to compatible version apps.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Is deletion of existing video subtitles mandatory?
A. It is not mandatory.
However, we recommend deletion if videos or subtitles become difficult to view due to double display.
Q. Is there a method to delete existing video subtitles in bulk?
A. There is not.
Q. Are there plans to switch all subtitles to new specification only at once as part of the functional improvement?
A. There are not.
This specification takes into consideration that all video subtitles would become unplayable if updating to compatible mobile apps is not possible.
Q. Will completely migrating to new specification subtitles affect subtitle display timing or subtitle text breaks?
A. There will be no impact.
Q. When downloading videos, will subtitles be displayed?
A. Neither original language nor translated language subtitles will be displayed. Videos without subtitles will be downloaded.
If videos with subtitles are needed, please capture videos with subtitles displayed.
We will consider responding to downloading videos with subtitles based on requests.
Q. Are videos in publicly released manuals also targeted?
A. Yes, they are targeted.
