Types of Search Modes

Exact Match Search

Displays results that exactly match the string entered as the search keyword.

Partial Match Search

Displays results that contain the string entered as the search keyword.

Index Search

Displays results where the string entered as the search keyword exactly matches the automatically generated index.

The index is a list automatically analyzed and created by the system from the main terms found in the following parts of a manual: "cover title," "cover description," "step title," "step description," "search tags," "template feature custom field names and input values," "subtitles in videos," and "text in image/video markings."

For English: Spaces are recognized as word delimiters when creating the index.
For Japanese: Sentences composed of words with conjugated forms are processed using morphological analysis.
For example, "わかりやすく伝わります" is split into words such as "わかりやすい" and "伝わる" and then indexed.

Standard Search and "All" in Advanced Search

An index search is performed across the full text.
A partial match search is performed targeting only the manual title and search tags.

"Title Only" in Advanced Search

A partial match search is performed targeting only the manual title.

"Search Tags Only" in Advanced Search

An exact match search is performed targeting only the manual's search tags.

Notes

  • You cannot manipulate indexed strings or register index entries for terms not included in the manual.
  • Particles, articles, or overly common words that cannot stand alone may not be indexed (e.g., "が", "や", "of", "for", "the").
  • In English, words without proper spacing between them may not be indexed correctly (e.g., "StandardOperationsProcedure").
  • Text within images or videos (such as markings or subtitles) is not subject to search.
