Details

Specifications Before Changes

  • Apps without registered device IDs can not access Teachme Biz regardless of whether they are on networks allowed by IP address restrictions. Therefore, it was necessary to register device IDs for all apps, including smartphones and tablets used only within the company network.
  • Since apps without registered device IDs are uniformly denied access, the device restriction function itself has enable/disable toggle functionality.

Specifications After Changes

  • Even apps without registered device IDs will be able to access Teachme Biz if they are from networks allowed by IP address restrictions.
Therefore, device ID registration will no longer be required for smartphones and tablets used only within the company network.
  • Based on the above specifications, the enable/disable toggle for the device restrictions feature will be abolished.

Improvement Points from the Renewal

The burden of managing device restrictions will be reduced.

1. When accessing only from allowed IP addresses, device ID registration will no longer be required

Previously, device ID registration was required even when accessing only from allowed IP addresses.
Going forward, only apps that are used from non-allowed IP addresses, such as when using carrier networks, will need to be registered, reducing the burden of device ID management.

2. The enable/disable settings for the feature will be removed

Previously, there was a risk of being unable to access Teachme Biz if the feature was enabled with unregistered device IDs.
Going forward, access will be possible from allowed IP addresses even without device ID registration, so the enable/disable settings will be removed.

3. A new method for collecting device IDs will be added(Released on August 6, 2025)

Previously, users had to check device IDs and contact administrators, and administrators receiving the contact had to manually register device IDs.
Going forward, device ID collection will be possible simply by having users enter login information in the mobile app and having group administrators approve it on the management screen.

4. Feature Name Changes

From device restriction function to "Access approval management"

Previously, it was a feature that uniformly disabled access from unauthorized devices, so it was called "device restrictions," but since it will become a feature that enables access from non-allowed IP addresses, the feature name will be changed to "Access approval management."

From device ID to "Specific code"

Conventionally, since it is assigned to apps rather than devices, the name has been changed to be more understandable.

How the Renewed Version Will Be Provided

It will be automatically applied after release.
Mobile app updates are not required.

Customer Preparation Required

Basically, none is required.
If you are using device restrictions, your current settings will be automatically maintained with Access approval management.
However, if you have device IDs registered while device restrictions are disabled, please delete the device IDs.
There is a possibility of allowing unintended access after the release.
