Editing a video with subtitles added in a mobile app Ver.8.2.0 or earlier will delete the subtitles.

※In mobile apps Version 4.6.3 or later, an alert will be displayed before editing when you attempt to edit a video that has subtitles added.
Details
The subtitle specifications differ depending on when the video was registered.
Old specification (subtitles registered on or before 2025/11/10): Subtitles are fixed to the video, and the subtitle state on the viewing screen cannot be changed.
New specification (subtitles registered or edited on or after 2025/11/10): Subtitles are not fixed to the video, allowing you to switch the display language, display position, and show/hide.
To prevent issues where subtitles do not appear in your environment, the new specification will not be applied to existing Manuals all at once.
The appearance of subtitles in each app is as follows.

What does "old and new specification subtitles displayed in duplicate" mean?
The new specification subtitles are displayed overlaid on top of the old specification subtitles.
Therefore, as long as subtitles are displayed in the original language, this is not expected to affect viewing.
State where subtitles are displayed in duplicate
State where "CC" is clicked and subtitles are no longer overlapping
When Subtitle Position is changed to the top
When the Subtitle Position is changed to the top, subtitles will appear at both the top and the bottom.
When Subtitle Translation is performed
Subtitle Translation or dual-language display causes the pre-translation and post-translation subtitles to overlap, making them difficult to read.
You can resolve the issue of subtitles being difficult to read by setting the Subtitle Position of the translated subtitles to the top, or by displaying the "Show original" in the secondary subtitle settings.

What specific edits will cause the video subtitles to switch to the new specification?
The following operations will fully migrate to the new specification subtitles, and the old specification subtitles will no longer be displayed.
- Open the Edit video screen
- Click the "Apply to Manual" button
If no changes to the subtitle text are needed, you do not need to actually make any changes.
This operation is required for each Step that has a video with subtitles registered.
