About subtitle function

  • Unlike the marking function, the subtitle function allows you to display added subtitles while the video is still running.
  • You can specify the section where you want to display subtitles.

Anything to prepare in advance?

No preparation is required on the customer side.
After the release, when you click "Edit video" the video editing screen will have subtitle function displayed.

Caution

  • The subtitles will be deleted if you re-edit a video in a mobile or Windows Desktop app after adding subtitles in the Web Browser version. (*)
    Please use the Web Browser version to re-edit a video with added subtitles.
  • On March 24, 2022、subtitles specifications for video editing function have been changed from "automatic line breaking" to "manual line breaking".
    If you re-edit a video with subtitles created before March 24, 2022, make sure to adjust the line breaks in the subtitles.

*We plan to add an alert message on mobile apps when users attempt to edit a video with subtitles. Once the mobile app fix for this is released, we recommend updating the app so that you won't delete subtitles accidentally.

*Starting version 4.6.3, an alert message is displayed on mobile apps when users attempt to edit a video with subtitles. We recommend updating the app so that you won't delete subtitles accidentally.

Will the subtitle function be available in Internet Explorer in the future?

No.

Starting March 1, 2023, operating on IE11 will no longer be supported. Please consider migrating to Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome browsers.

Will the subtitle function be available in the Windows Desktop app in the future?

No.

Starting March 1, 2021, we have stopped implementing any new functions on the Windows Desktop application.

Will the subtitle function be available on mobile apps in the future?

Yes, we plan to release the subtitle function on mobile apps in the future.

Meanwhile, please use the Web Browser version to add subtitles.
